Road Trip!!! LSU 30 Miss State 26

Whew!! What a game!! Down to the last minute!
Not sure if you have heard or not, but it's been raining in Mississippi for about the last two weeks. When we left Friday for our road trip...chance of rain for Saturday...90%, when we woke up Saturday morning checked the weather again...Chance of rain 60%. Oh, we should be fine!

We got to campus around 7:30 for the 11:21 am kickoff and were able to find a tailgating spot with very little trouble.

Group pic...

Me and Andy...
Mike and Jocelyn...
Jamie and Felder... The girls...
The set up...
Jamie had said from the beginning, if you build it, they will come...and that they did!! Once our LSU tents were up and visible from the street, the LSU fans started rolling in our lot. And before we knew it, we had a tent full of people. And just next to us was another group that set up tents and had a music system, so we were good to go!
Guess I was doing a little too much talking?!?!

One of the more interesting people we met along the way was Mr. Mickey Pannebaker, a member of the 1958 championship team!! Needless to say, Mike and I were very excited to meet and speak with him. Really cool stuff!!

No, he's not showing off his drink...but rather his championship ring!!

Just enjoying the rain...

Or not...

As I mentioned, the game was a nail bitter!! We really liked our seats, even though we were higher than any building in the greater Starkville, MS area.

Not really sure why Andy looks like he is in pain in this pic!?!?It was the "White Out" game for MSU and once everyone was able to take off their poncho's, you were able to see the white...That's the another part of the LSU section in the bottom right.
The rest of us were up here...
My friend Matt, who teaches in the room next to me was there too! This score board was amazing!! I found myself watching it instead of the the field!!

By the end of the game, the sun had come out and it was a nice steam machine setting. When went back to do some more tailgating, and let all of our gear dry out...it was soaked!!
We packed up and headed back to the hotel for a little R and R and a bath!! And then went to dinner...Little Dooey's home of the FRIED RIBS!!! and YUMMY!!
Great road trip!!

LSU 31 ULL 3

Not much to report on this week. Saturday brought another day of tailgating. LSU played our step-cousin Univ. of La at Lafayette. There is a lot of the "house divided" stuff with the in-state schools...they try to make it something...but it's really not!
Wendy stopped by along with Chrissy and her little girl Laney..LOVE that bow!!
Ben and Andy trying not to get their pics taken...give it up boys!
Tailgate group watching a little football and chit chatting.

This week, Andy, Big Mike, Jocelyn, Jamie, Felder and myself will be traveling to the metropolis of Starkville, MS for the LSU/Miss St. game. I made the trip when I was in college. Andy and I are trying to make it to all of the SEC stadiums...it's on our bucket list.

Pregnancy update: still feeling pregnant! Getting excited about finding out the sex of the baby.

LSU 23 Vandy 9

First home game...LOTS OF RAIN!!

The tailgate got moved to the concrete this week due to the 90 percent chance of rain for the day. We didn't get much rain during the day while tailgating...a light drizzle that kept the temps down and brought a nice breeze.Big Mike and his wife Jocelyn are joining us this year in the tailgate festivities. SO excited about this...it's been too long since my dear friend has been back to celebrate LSU football!!

Ben, Michael and Andy playing a little catch in our normal spot.Mrs. Patty switched roles with Mr. Mike! The weather was so nice it was great napping weather. On a serious note, notice, no Michelle in the pics...well, she is still on bed rest waiting the arrival of Kyleigh...I really missed her!! But she'll be back, hopefully for the Florida game!

On our way to see the band. Our soon to be baby's first game! HA! I know corny!! GEAUX TIGERS!!

***Be sure to vote in my little poll on the right side...I'd love to know what you all think!***

12 Week Update

I went to the doctor today.
All is well, the doctor listened to the heartbeat, which is between 163 and 170. She said that is where it should be.
I go back on October 6th for my next appointment and to find out what the gender of the baby is going to be. October 6th is also my mom's birthday...so a little present for grandma to be!

Labor Day Weekend

Wow...what a great weekend!! And one that I really needed! It's amazing what a little football will do for the soul!!

My best friend Stacey came in town this weekend and was able to stay with us Saturday night. We had a great visit with lots of laughs...unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of our visit...guess we were to busy giggling!!

For the LSU game, we had Eric and Nicole over to watch the game, along with Stacey, we did a little cooking and I was in my element...being a hostess...I just love entertaining and having people in my home...puts a big ole smile on my face. We set up two TVs in the living room and we were in football heaven!!

I would like to note that I stayed up for the entire LSU game!! Made it to 1am, thank you very much...not bad for a girl who has been going to sleep at 8:00 every night for the last oh say 12 weeks!!!

Fritz on the other hand....

Pregnancy update: Feeling fine...just tired and still a little nauseated, but I think it's getting better, or I am doing a better job of ignoring it. I go to the doctor on the 9th this week, so I will have an update then.

Hurricane Ready!

One year ago, today, the Baton Rouge area was hit by it's worst hurricane that I can remember...Hurricane Gustav. This is what our old house looked like after the storm...
As I do every year...while Andy laughs at my OCD, I prepare for the hurricane season....

I start stocking up on bottled water when it's on sale.

Check the flashlights and batteries and lighter for candles.

Freezing water in saved up 2-liters for ice and keeping the refrig cold in case of loss of power. I learned this trick from my late father who was born and raised in New Orleans and had experienced his share of bad storms...guess that's where all of this comes from, truth be told!

Other preparations we, or should I say I have taken....refilled the propane tank for the gas grill, stocked up on hamburger meat and other things we can grill, also stocked up on some peanut butter and jelly and other non-perishables, add to the list a stock pile of toilet paper and other paper products...ya know paper plates on clearance etc. and we are good to go! (you laugh, but would you want to be out of toilet paper and not able to get to a store!?!)

I know, it all seems a little over done, but there is no way, I am depending on anyone but me to get me and my family through a storm!

The kicker to all of this...Chances are the Gulf won't even have a busy season this year...it's usually every other year...but we'll be ready for next year, that is IF we haven't used all of our supplies to supplement missing items needed for tailgating!!
