DSHS Hall of Fame

DSHS Athletic Hall of Fame is a favorite event of mine. This year was no exception. It was made even more special when a former student, Keisha Lee was inducted for her accomplishments on the basketball court and my good friend, Dru Nettles was inducted for accomplishments as an athlete at DSHS as well as a coach. So happy for these very worthy inductees!

 

Leah's LEAP Awards

Northside started celebrating the students who make a mastery or advanced on their state test, the LEAP test. It was a nice way to recognize these students and their hard work! So proud of our girl, Leah.

A little sleepover fun with Leah's friend from school, Gracie! They have been working on this sleepover for a while now and both were super excited about it. So much fun! 

 

Annie - The Best Dog

My mom's sweet dog Annie's passed away this week. She was the sweetest dog and took great care of my mom. This was Leah's first experience with death, let alone the death of a family pet. It was just heartbreaking for all of us. 

To process her grief, Leah painted a rock in memory of Annie for grandma to place in her garden. It was such a touching moment and a beautiful way for Leah to show her love for Annie. Thank you Annie for being such a good girl! We miss you already. 

 

The Day After the Cookie Bakeoff

Jeff and his crew spent the night at mom's Saturday night. We all got up and went to church and then to lunch at Walk Ons. It was a great weekend! 

 

The Great Cookie Bakeoff

Somewhere, somehow, Uncle Jeff found a way to wear his Cookie Monster costume and created "The Great Cookie Bakeoff!" And here we are. Who doesn't love a family competition? We had the best day and the cookie tasting was just a bonus. 

Let history be recorded that Sarah did not win, only because "Grandma's oven doesn't cook right"
