Pack the PMAC! Man, these games used to be so fun in the late 90s and early 2000s. I am so happy to see them making a come back and my girls get to experience an amazing atmosphere for girls basketball. Go Tigers! Beat the Vols!

2023 Louisiana State Games - Middle School Basketball

Sarah's Denham Springs Jr. High Team headed to North Louisiana for the Middle School State tournament in Monroe. They played at the University of Louisiana Monroe's student rec center. We had a great time traveling with the girls and their families. The team competed well against the other teams from around the state that attended. It was a super fun weekend of basketball.

Girls went 2-1 on the weekend: Lost to Ouachita Jr. 29-26, Beat Keithville 23-9, and beat Youree Dr. Middle 33-29 to win the consolation bracket.

Amelia is TWO!

Amelia is TWO!!! And she is SO much fun. She is spontaneous, funny, energetic, super sweet and has a great take it all in attitude. We sure are glad she is ours. Happy Birthday sweet girl! 

 

Tornado?

Probably my first real tornado scare. Winter in the south means lots of tornado watches/warnings. Andy was out of town for work when all of this went down tonight so us girls had to put on our big girl panties and gather in the bathroom.

I literally got Sarah out of the shower as the lights went out to get all of us in the bathroom. Looking back on it, I probably should have gotten her some clothes to get dressed first, but we were in a rush against time. Something about this storm was just different. I could feel the wind on the house and it all just seemed weird. Especially once the lights went out. 

And sure enough....it blew right over our house!! 

Whew! Glad that is over!!

 

DSHS Soccer

We admit it....we know nothing about soccer. And we also admit this is our first DSHS soccer game to attend, but it was for Michael and we were happy to support him on his Senior Night.

We did a great job of just clapping when everyone else would clap and we got mad when everyone else got mad. It was fun. And now we can say we've been to a soccer game. 

 

Sarah's 2nd Knee Surgery

Our girl is such a trooper. Time for the second knee surgery. This time the surgery is for a removal of medial plica scope. We are hopeful that this will give her some relief. 

She is so calm for these things. I admire that in her. 

Now for some rest and recovery. 

 

Amelia Sleepover

With the MLK holiday on Monday, we took the opportunity to have an Amelia sleepover. She is so much fun to have around and keeps us all busy, busy. Cousins are so much fun. 

Got her ready for Mardi Gras. I love this little tradition we started when she was born...Aunt Julie loves some holiday pjs. 

Aunt Stacy came back to get Amelia and brought a yummy king cake Rice Krispies recipe for us to try out.
