Photo Drop

Sarah and Olivia in their new spirit shirts from school.  Better late than never.

Having a little fun in Loews while we wait with Grandma to get her new washer and dryer!

And lots of fun in the dryer box at Grandma's house after. haha!

Who knew you could survey a swamp?!?!

Sarah's first non-slumber, slumber party!  Sarah's friend Lilly was having a slumber party for her birthday.  Sarah's not quite ready for the whole slumber party scene so she just went for the party activities and I picked her up when it was time to get ready for bed.  She had a great time and even mentioned she thought she might want to stay next time.

Happy birthday Lilly!

My gang in the morning.  haha...no one is feeling it.

Enjoying sweet treat from Grammy for Valentines day!

It's been a while...Sarah lost another tooth!

Mardi Gras Play Date Fun!

Leah has been asking nonstop for her "best fran ROSE a LEE" to come to her house to play.  Since actual Mardi Gras day is pretty laid back for us, I call Rosealie's mother and they were available to play!  We owed April some kid watching time after all the time she watched the girls while we were cleaning up at mom's house after the flood.  Ben, Rosalie's older brother, and Sarah play great together and of course, Leah and Rosealie have a blast together.  It was a super fund day!

Mardi Gras in NOLA

One final day of parading fun...our favorite of all, uptown NOLA parades!  The Carroll girls joined us this year and once again, we had a great time.  We again parked at Martin Wine Cellar and then bought bracelets for restroom access at The Columns hotel (which Leah referred to as the castle).  The weather was gorgeous!!

Double fisting the Capri Suns...it's getting serious.

Parading is tough.

This ladder.  So we made some "friends" while waiting on parades.  They had brought the ladder for their almost one year old to sit in (i know! but whatever).  They offered our girls a turn to sit in the ladder while the baby wasn't using it.  Sarah and Leah went back and forth on whether or not they wanted to use it and Sarah tried, but her legs were too long so she was uncomfortable. They eventually worked out a way to use the ladder and still have fun.

Krewe of Denham Springs

Yipppeee!! Another parade!  And for the first time in a very long time, we didn't ride in the DS Mardi Gras parade.  Mike's float is still not repaired from the flood but hopefully by next parade, we will be rolling again.  Until then...Throw me something mister!

Missy invited us to her mom's to park and pre parade fun at her house.  We had a great group and lots of fun!

Leah Had a Great Fall!

OUCH! Leah had a little...well, big fall today after school.  Andy had picked the girls up from daycare while I attended an inservice for school.  The girls daily routine includes running next door to say hi to Mrs. Peggy, who is usually outside reading a book and Mr. Woody, who is usually doing chores that Mrs. Peggy has given him. ;)

Today, Leah took off full speed ahead and her little feet weren't going quite as fast as she thought and she "ate the concrete".  Andy sent me a text, saying she had fallen and it was bad....I had no idea how bad until I got home.  Ouch!

Still in pain the next day and very puffy.  I've convinced her to pretend that the neosporin is like make up or lotion and for the most part she goes with it. Just praying she doesn't end up with a big ole scar!

Krewe of Orion

It's Carnival season!! And we love a good parade!  Tonight was a first for us.  We headed to downtown Baton Rouge for the Krewe of Orion parade.  It is a night parade and the girls have only been to one other night parade (last year).  I was a little curious as to how it would go because we weren't real sure where we would park, go to the potty...ya know all that fun stuff you get to worry about when going to a Mardi Gras parade.

We ended up at the Pentagon Barracks at the foot of the State Capitol and it was perfect!!  We surrounded by other families with kids and had the perfect spot to catch the parade.  The scenery downtown was an added bonus!
