Leah is loving the "new" clothes passed down to her by a friend.

Sarah had a neon testing party today at school.  Lots of fun.

Trying to take Berklie home with us today at daycare.

Chef Sarah. Really good at cooking the French toast.

Katie and the senior parade through the parking lot.

They've recently become very obsessed with being pregnant.  Oy! I think they just want to go on the Ellen show and win the mother's day prizes.

Katie and Sarah! Katie making the elementary graduation walk through Northside.

Sarah's friend Charlotte on American Idol to watch her uncle Laine Hardy during the finale. Super exciting!

Sarah's 3rd Grade Awards

Third grade was hard, y'all!  So many challenges...Sarah had her ear issues most of the first semester with a surgery in November.  The girlfriend drama started up ...not ready for that!  The content required a little more effort than Sarah had put forth in the past. And with trying to move from baby-sih to kind of grown-ish.  I for one am glad to see third grade go.  Sarah had a super successful academic year and received FIVE awards at her ceremony....All As all year, highest math gpa, highest ela gpa, good behavior all year and some others...I'm not sure. haha!

Barksdale Air Force Base Air Show

Uncle Mike was in Shreveport for the Barksdale Air Force Base Air Show.  His crew would be flying in with a C-17 that will be in the show.  He and his crew work the maintenance on the plane....or something like that.  We were soooo excited that he'd be so close to us and the girls could see Uncle Mike doing his Air Force thing.  Jeff found us a hotel room close to the base and we all headed to Shreveport after work on Friday. None of us have ever been to an air show before, so we weren't real sure what to expect.  And Mike had already warned us that we may not get to spend much time with him during the day because he would be working.  But we were willing to make the trip...we couldn't have him this close and not go see him.
The girls were cracking us up with their excitement at the hotel room.  The landline phone was a big hit and they used it several times to call Uncle Jeff 's room and then Grandma's room.

Leah was a fan of the big comfy bed with extra pillows.

Mike got in town a day or so before us for the practice rounds of the show and was able to come see us real quick Friday night.  He was going to go with his Air Force buddies and Jeff to have some fun for a few hours. So good to have us all together.

We made it to the base....and EARLY! Like we had to wait for the gates to open! Go Us!!

Wait...What?? We get to TOUCH the planes??? This is SO cool!!

YAY! Mike found us!  And the best part...he gets to hang with us for the day.  The actual flying part of the show doesn't start until 11 and he's already taken care of what he needed with his plane that he brought in from Albuquerque.

Really excited to see Uncle Mike!!

Proud Mama!

This is us listening to Mike explain parts of the C-130 plane that he worked on when he was stationed in Alaska.  Leah couldn't get enough of Uncle Mike!

Just hanging out in the "BUTT" of the plane as Leah liked to call it.

I probably should've paid more attention to what plane we were on but...There were many planes out on the run way and we could walk inside most of them and learn about the plane.  It was really fun.

This is Mike's plane C-17.  This is the plane he flew in on from Albuquerque and he is the crew chief.  The plane was parked a ways away because it would be flying in the show so we didn't get to go in it.  But it was still cool to see his plane.

Picture with Uncle Mike's plane.  haha!

Leah was really impressed that this plane was from Canada and wanted to be sure to tell our neighbor, Ms. Roxanne, who  is Canadian.

Crazy blessed to have this much time with Mike!! We weren't even sure we'd get 15 minutes with him and turns out we spent most of the day with him.  He Stayed with us until the show started and watched his plane fly with us and then headed back to work to get the plane ready for its second flight later in the afternoon.

There it is. Uncle Mike's C-17.

The weather was all over the place today.  The morning was very cloudy and almost cool.  It was a nice change from what we thought would be a raining the whole day.  But as we got closer to the after noon, the sun came out from behind the clouds and it was HOT.  Leah and Sarah came home with a nice little sunburn.  Leah did try using her umbrella to shade herself as much as she could.

People flying out of Uncle Mike's plane.

The girls had begged to go jump so after Mike had to leave us, we went to jump.  By this time it was super hot outside but they had fun for about an hour.

We headed home tired and sunburned...but we had a great time and LOVED being able to spend so much time with Uncle Mike!
