Christmas Day

Sarah was pleased with Santa's givings. Heidi was too!

Christmas Eve

Started out Christmas Eve celebration at church with the family.  I love having us all together preparing our hearts for the celebration of the birth of our savior. 

After church we headed to Grandma's for dinner and presents with the family. Lots of laughs as usual and a big ole mess after it's all done. 

After Grandma's house, we headed back home to get ready for Santa. The girls put out Santa's cookies and a snack for the reindeer. And my favorite part of the night is the sister sleepover on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Treats with Uncle Mike

Sweet treats are a favorite part of the holidays. And Uncle Mike requested we make some this year and wanted to be in the mix. So we headed to Grandma's and got to making sweet treats.

Another Christmas tradition...seeing the Big Guy at Bass Pro. Uncle Mike is in town too...so he got to join us today.

 

Celebration in the Oaks

This was our first year to attend Celebration in the Oaks in City Park in New Orleans. We all really enjoyed it and hope to make it part of our Christmas family fun again in the future.  We stopped at Middendorf's on our way down for a late lunch/early dinner and then headed to Jeff and Stacy's house to pick them and Amelia up. We can all fit in the suburban so it helps with the cost of the ride through looking at the lights before you head into the actual walking tour and amusement park. 

I'd like to speak to the manager, please! lol

 

The iconic Mr. Bingle! The mascot of the Masion Blanche department store in New Orleans. The giant Mr. Bingle figure measured 50 feet tall and 35 feet from mitten-to-mitten. Made by a Chicago firm, it was shipped to New Orleans on two railroad flatcars and was described at the time in The Times-Picayune as “the largest outdoor display of this sort ever used by a retail store.”

We he the best time! My only regret is that we didn't take our girls to this event earlier. We will definitely be back.
