Just keep swimming...

Well, we just want to start swimming!! The previous owners of Jeff's house had neglected the pool for quite some time. So with a little elbow grease, you tube research and the help of some chemicals, the pool will be ready for the 4th of July!!! Which is great news since Mike will be home, like back to the USofA for good this July 4th weekend!! We are all beyond excited!!

June Photo Drop

It's tough being a Tiger fan in June...

Headed to the Denicola pool while they are at St. Jude. Someone's gotta keep the water moving.

Silly girl!

Leah has a new friend at school!  LUKE!!

Yeah, we are getting a little excited about Uncle Jeff's pool.

Thanks to Ms. Tristian, we acquired a "new to us" iPad.  Maybe this will ease some of the conflicts...but probably not.

My little Picasso's

Sarah is back at DSCA for the summer while I teach summer school.  She is enjoying seeing her old pals from pre-k and being at school with Leah.  They have 2-3 field trips a week and/or an activity planned every week!!! Movies, bowling, park/playground, water park, library, laser tag, zoo and then themed days on the non-field trip days.  Whew!  Fun summer!

Homeowner!!

What!?!?! Jeff's is the proud owner of a house! We are super happy for him as his patience has paid off.  The house is in Walker.  We spent the weekend helping him get settled.
The couch is nap approved! ;) First time either of my girls has just fallen asleep somewhere other than their bed! She was a tired little helper.

The girls are happy to "help" Uncle Jeff move in.
Did I mention there is a pool?!?! Yippppeeee!!!  I'll post an update on that later.

Brynlie Jayne

Brynlie Jayne Owens
3.0 pounds, 15 inches

Brynlie was known to have infantile polycystic kidney disease early on in her life in the womb.  It was  known by all that loved her that she would not survive life outside the loving confines of her mother's womb. And though her parents had other options, they chose life...they chose love.  They put themselves out to fully love and embrace the life of Brynlie no matter how short its potential or how big the hole left by her absence would be.

There, in a what we all knew would be a tragic situation, were answered prayers that were prayed upon specifically.  No c-section necessary, thirty weeks in the womb, and a glorious hour and fifteen minutes of life before meeting her Heavenly Father.

Brynlie Jayne, beautiful baby girl with a head full of hair and a cute little nose, I thank Jesus for your life.  I am thankful for the love that you placed inside my heart.  And as much as I long to hug and kiss and hold your sweet babiness, I will instead give all of that love to your beautiful mommy who's heart aches for you.

Good night, sweet angel.

NOLA Anniversary Trip...Day 3

Day THREE! Yes! We made sure to sneak in an extra day this year since it was a milestone anniversary.  Go us. Today...no reservations to be anywhere, no real plans.

Gorgeous blue skies before the rain is suppose to come this evening.

The Farons enjoying some blues at BB Kings.

A wonderful group of ladies that I call my dear friends!

No trip is complete without Coop's.  No one else I'd rather wait in line with.

Millers and Smokeys

eight people. eight plates of crab claws...gone!
After Coop's we headed back to Harry's just before the torrential down pour.  Stayed there for a while and then moved on ...eventually finding our way back to our hotel.  Another amazing weekend making memories with some of my favorite people in the whole big wide world! Love you guys!

NOLA Anniversary Trip...Day 2

A late night usually leads to a slow morning.  Which is what we love about this trip...and this city! No rush. Take your time.
Meeting up with everyone at the Chart Room. Love spending the day with my man in my favorite city!!

Yep! Post up and Stay a while....or 5.5 hours.
Dinner reservations tonight at Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. This was our "fancy" meal for the weekend.  We try to get a least one of these "fancy" meals in a weekend.
Love!

All fancied up! Celebrating 16, 15, 10 and 11 years of marriage.

Yes, Smokey was enjoying a "warm cup of tea"(in your best British accent)...but look at his dinner!! HOLY COW and LOBSTER!
The Millers.

The Tallboys.
After dinner, I went straight to our hotel...to change! Yall, know I am not a dress kind of person.  Back to comfort for me.  We were headed to Harry's, a favorite spot of our, when we met up with Jamie and Felder.  They were in town for her cousin's wedding.
J and J.

Cheers!!
"well...that escalated quickly."

NOLA Anniversary Trip...day 1

Andy and I dropped the girls off at daycare this morning and headed out of the parking lot with our tires turning up dust.   Not really.  Well maybe.  We were headed to New Orleans for our yearly anniversary celebration and weekend getaway with our friends.  Ten years now that we've done this! And look who joined us and the Young's this year...The MILLER's!!! Yiippppeee!!! Can't wait for an amazing weekend!
But first, lets get a seatbelt ticket! WHAT?!?!?! On our way to brunch.  Yep on Tchoupitoulas right in front of the police station.  Mr. Officer was standing in the street doing a seatbelt check.  Guess who NEVER wears her seatbelt in the back?!?!  UGH!! Whatever...are we going to make our reservation on time???

We made it to Atchafalaya on time and laughed on the way there about the silliness of our bad luck!
Wellll........Hello bloody mary  bar!

My peeps!
After brunch, we headed to our hotel to check in and get settled.  We stayed at the Royal Sonesta this year.  It's been about six years since we last stayed there.  We love the location and they have done some updating recently...it was super nice.  After getting settled, we headed to the street, we were thirsty. :)
Boys.

Girls.

How cute are Chrisie and Mandy with their hats?!?!

Happy 15th  Anniversary Mandy and Miller.  We love you!
We had dinner reservations at 7:30, so we headed back to our rooms late afternoon to get cleaned up and ready for dinner.
Tonight's dinner.  Andy and Faron have been talking about this place for three or so years.  It finally made it's way to our places to eat list.

Yum! Yum! Yum!

Not the best lighting, but man, some of the best food!!!
After dinner, we need to do some walking around...what better place than the quarter.
Ummm, yeah, I was asked to be in the band. Fun stuff!

Such a fun night!!!
