NYE!

Another low key New Year's celebration.  We tried to pop some fireworks...my girls are not fans of fireworks, so that lasted about five minutes!  Then we headed to Jeff's to let him and Andy have fun blowing up stuff while the girls and I stayed inside and watched out the window.  Leah preferred this method of viewing and so did Sarah.   Then we headed back to our house for a 9pm NYE countdown with Leah just before her bed time.  Sarah was super excited about staying up for the actual countdown and was really into the NYE spirit this year.

Goodbye 2016....

Photo Drop

Addalyn's 7th birthday spa party!

Happy Birthday Addalyn

Preschool Pals....Sarah, Addalyn, Emeri

Lining up the princesses and I am sure giving them some kind of instruction as to what they should be doing.   Leah has a great imagination.

Sassy Sarah!

Family selfie.

Silly girls...keep us laughing.

Sarah and mommy getting used to this winter break vacation mode.

Car wash and Nutella...

Oh my sweet Leah...truly a kid who enjoys every adventure!

Sarah did a great job of coaching Leah through the car wash...so much so that Leah ended up loving it!

Recently my girls have discovered Nutella.  It's a treat they look forward to after being well behaved with me in the Walmart.  If you ever give Leah Nutella in the car and things get quiet....be sure to quickly check in on the situation!

Gettin' Crafty

The girls really love to paint, and create just about anything.  And now that Leah can participate without making too big of a mess, we are trying to find more crafty type things to do.  The girls both created a painting for Uncle Eddie for his Christmas present.  And then we did this garden stone thingy that ...well, was a big pain, but we finished it and the girls had fun, so I guess that's all that matters.  Love seeing how proud they are of their work when they finish a project.

Gearing up to go back to DSHS

It's happening...we are going back to our school and our normal schedule at the beginning of the semester!!! I for one, am extremely excited!!   We are down to the bare essentials...but we will take it!  Allegedly, our floors will be replaced this summer and our walls painted.

New white boards and my bulletin boards are gone.  All new student desks
New teacher chair, desk, network printer and wireless projector.

I am really going to miss my shelves and cabinets.  "they" are suppose to replace these at some point...not holding my breathe on that!

And NO door!  Doors are a hug commodity in the area right now, seeing as how every home, businesses, and school had to replace their wooden doors after the flood.  Sarah had warned me of not having doors when I returned to my school, because they just recently received doors at her school.

Under all of those goodies is Sarah! Ha!.  Thank to the love of family and friends, through gift card donations, I was able to replace some personal items as well get some items necessary to get my classroom back in order.

Mid-life Crisis Christmas

How to tell your mother - in -laws true feeling for you...she gets her son an electric drum set for Christmas.  Yes...her grown son.  Not the grandkids.  And come to find out, that grown son...requested these drums!!! Of course he did!  OY!

He is pretty good, I will admit.  But yeah, drums.

Christmas Day

Santa found the girls!!  American Girl doll and Paw Patrol were the stars of the morning at our house. We had a wonderful morning exchanging gifts and of course watching the Disney Christmas parade.  And then we headed to Suzette and Donnie's for Christmas lunch, that has now become a tradition that we all really enjoy.

Yep! It was a good Christmas!

Who Dat Christmas Eve

YAY!!! Mike has surprised us with coming home for Christmas!! Sure does make it much easier for him to do that now that he's back in the USofA.  And since's he has been back in America he has been playing catch up for all of the American sporting events that he missed out on while in England.  A couple of weeks ago, he headed to the Saints vs. Arizona Cardinals game in Scottsdale.   (He is currently stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico)  While there, he made some friends with a few fellow Louisianians who were Saints season ticket holders.  In the conversation, the new friends offered up their Saints tickets for the Christmas Eve game to Mike if he was going home for the holidays....Well, he is now!!! Who Dat!

Yep! We left our kids on Christmas Eve! We aren't completely crazy...we all agreed to leave the game early to get back home for Christmas Eve dinner and presents.

Uncle Eddie's first NFL game!!!

LOVED our seats!! The rest of our crew is sitting across from us...kind of behind Andy's head in this picture. haha!
We all had a blast in the dome!! I know we would have all stayed for the whole game it not been Christmas Eve...but we were excited to head back home and celebrate with the girls too.  It was a win, win!
Thank you "Fuller House" for bringing the classics to her attention.

Not sure what was happening here, but obviously Leah is getting it under control!

The girls loved giving Uncle Eddie their handmade presents!

These no mess coloring pads are a huge hit with Leah!!

Zephyrs  .... now the "Baby Cakes"   Mike and Jeff are thrilled!

A wonderful Christmas Eve had by all!!

Time to get ready for Santa and his reindeer.

Sarah made reindeer food at school and let Leah help in spreading out the food for our guests.
