New Year's Eve

We originally had no plans for New Year's Eve this year, that was until 1 pm the Thursday before when Andy suggested we head to see Chrisie and Faron in Oklahoma!! Sounds good to me! So we packed up and headed out Friday after Andy was done with work....Drove half way Friday and then got up Saturday and headed to Duncan, OK.

If you know our group, you know we are low on little girls!! Aubrey and Lillian were so good with Sarah while we were there. As with most situations, Sarah is hesitant at first to a new environment, however she took right to the girls!
Probably had to do with the amount of attention she was getting from them!! They were doing make- overs with all of Chrisie's make-up and hair products....Sarah was the lucky recipient of a make- over! She was really in to it!
Oh yeah, lipstick and the whole bit!
The girls all made up!
Sarah sharing her wafers with Baby Ryan.
YUMMMYYY!! Faron smoking deer meat and ribs! The boys.
Sarah decided to go jump with the little boys. Cole told me he would take care of her!
Cole, Sarah, Jackson and Lucas.
JUMP, JUMP, JUMP!!
Every time we make a trip to Oklahoma, we try to bring a little Louisiana up with us. This time....Abita's Mardi Gras brew for the adults and
King Cake for the kiddos!
Me, Chrisie and Mandi
It was a red solo cup kind of night! Great last minute trip!!

One Last Christmas Post...

That's not so christmas. We went to the park on Christmas Eve to kill some time before all of the festivities began. I think I was oxygen deprived that morning, when I told Andy 'I am not going to bring my camera... Just going to relax!' and of course every moment was a kodak moment! But no camera... All i had was my phone. So I am trying a new (well, new to me) app on the phone that allows me to blog from my phone!!

The Day After...

In an attempt to reclaim our living room back, and due to all of the new toys Sarah received at Christmas, I bought this organizer shelf today at Target (on sale after Christmas...how'd they know?!) Sarah has never had her toys in her room. This is a new adventure for her as well as momma. She still has a few things out in the living room, like her new Kitchen from Santa, but most of it is now all in her room. She played for a little while by herself and then came to get us to join her...and we did. And then at some point Andy and I were still playing in her room and she was playing in the living room!! Ummm, not how I saw this transition playing out in my head.

Christmas Day 2011

Sarah and Andy slept until almost 9:30 this morning! When I woke up, Santa had arrived at our house! Time to get them up and get this party started!Santa knew Sarah had been cooking up all kinds of things lately and felt she needed a kitchen of her own. And of course knew she could never have too many books or puzzles. Sarah super excited!
Checking it all out... Putting her "food" in the oven. Happy girl!!
Grabbing some seasoning...yeah, she's a cajun girl! Adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Yea! Books!! Oh, there's a stocking too!!

After the Santa festivities, we headed to Suzette and Donnie's house for Christmas lunch - delicious seafood gumbo to start and ham with all of the fixings to cap it off...and most importantly more family time. Sarah is a dog lover....and she loves, their little dog Jackson.
Sarah playing outside before lunch. Sorry about that window...just leaving a little mark to remember her by when she's gone.
Suzette gave Sarah this adorable LSU nap mat!
Emily and Evan gave Sarah a Toy Story Adventure Hut! She absolutely loves this!! I found it mildly amusing that she knew exactly what to do with it when we opened it up! Do not adjust your screen, yes, that is a Tulane shirt! Suzette wanted to make sure that Sarah gets to stay true to her deep New Orleans roots and blessed Sarah with this greenie-weenie...uhhh-ummm, Tulane shirt. ;) And then the gift that there are no words for....My father, who has now been gone for almost nine years was Suzette's godfather. She gave Sarah the cross pendant that my dad had given her for her first Holy Communion! Like, I said, no words to describe what this means to me. Thank you again Suzette!
Sarah and her Great Uncle Dave (my Dad's brother) and her Great Aunt Cookie.

Whew...it's been a very exciting two days! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good nap!

Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve, we went to church for the evening service, then headed to mom's house for dinner and our Christmas celebration. Sarah headed straight to mom's "toy" closet and pulled out the Lego's...little did she know she was about to have plenty of new toys!
Jeff mixing up his cookies...these things are SO good!! They now have a new name..."Magic" cookies. Sarah had her fair share of these tasty treats and we credit them with her great mood and her ability to stay up and happy until after 10!
Helping Grandma in the kitchen. My brothers are really 29 going on 9!! While they were doing some shopping at Toys R Us, they picked up some Nerf guns. And in their spare time on Saturday, they did a little research and found out how to modify them so that the guns shoot farther and harder! Fun for the shooter, not so fun for the recipient! Big Brother laying it down on the little one. Sarah was in charger of picking up the fallen ammo. Our little busy bee...She was having a good time watching Mike and Jeff go after each other and then would happily go search for aftermath.
Run JEFF!!

Uh-OH!!
Finally time for dinner....I did mention my brothers acted like they were 9, right?! They proceed to teach Sarah how to chew up her food and then show us all her mush in her mouth! She again was cracking up at their silliness. I however, wasn't too excited about this new trick. Can't wait to get this letter from school! Awww, there's my girl....Look at that sweet little face! After dinner, a little FaceTime with Andy's family. Technology is so awesome!!
Present time! Sarah was my little elf, as I played Santa this year. Such a good helper.
Sarah's turn. Yes, we took a gazillion pics of the opening of presents...isn't that what Christmas is about!
Sarah delivering to Uncle Mike. Sending Mike back to Alaska with a little taste of home. Can you believe that he can't buy these up there?!?!
Little hands at work! Elmo!! "Bye, Bye Pacifier" Look at that face, I think Sarah is on to us...If you can do this Elmo, you will be my hero!! Ooooooooo!! Play-doh from Uncle Jeff!!
Ahhhhhh!!! A Dora doll from Uncle Mike!!
Dora getting her hair did! ;) "Please stop asking to take pictures of me...can't you see I am busy!"
Andy with his new drill!
Mike and Jeff are huge Cubs fans...I know- why bother. Anyway, my uncle Eddie got them both this awesome Fathead! Jeff sporting three different gifts at once! Although he looks like he is ready to fly a plane in Top Gun, he is actually ready to play the Playstation on-line...while sitting outside at an afternoon LSU football game!
Three generations!
Sarah and Grandma. Mike, Sarah and Jeff. Opps...Family pic with a smartie.
All together...my happy place!
