Just getting in a little practice before football season!

I know, I gotta get some shoes for this kid!

Thanks for the great pic guys!!

I know, I know...I am breaking about 100 different rules of infant sleeping in these pics (sleeping on the boppy, sleeping on her stomach, holding her till she falls asleep blah, blah, blah), but I get the meaning of "Do what you have to do to get them to sleep!" Again, people who write these "rules" are from another planet!!
Other times, I think he is protective....
At times, I think he is jealous of all of her stuff...
But this could all be a plot to fool me so that when he has the opportunity, he will pounce on Sarah! Who knows?!?! I usually answer the question of "How's the dog?" with..."He's learning to adjust!"
Well, we have survived one month!! Some of Sarah's milestones....tracking her mobile in her crib, recognizing voices and turning toward them, lots of grunting and noises. We are still waiting for that memorable first smile! She is on a four hour nursing schedule and tends to stay awake for about an hour after she eats. At this point, most nights, we are blessed with six hours of sleep at a time!! We go to the doctor Wednesday of this week, so I will update this post with all of her "stats" then.
We went to the doctor this morning...Weight: 11 pounds 1 ounce!! (95th percentile) and Length 23 inches!! (95th percentile)
I love spring in south Louisiana!!

My brother Mike is in town from Alaska for the whole month of April!!! Love having both of my brothers home at the same time!

Sarah had a blast at her first crawfish boil! ;0)

As for me, I have been cleared by my doctor to drive once again...so thank you Grandma Sandy for hauling us around for the last two weeks!! I am still in some pain, but not too bad...c-sections are quite the operation! I just have to continue to watch what I pick up while I am still healing on the inside...but my incision is almost healed and my blood pressure is back to normal!

Great Aunt Cookie...
Great Uncle Dave...
So after a long day Saturday, Ms. Sarah let me know that she didn't really care for being away from home that long...and I am just guessing here, because I really have no idea why my baby cries when she does- I digress....anyway, Sarah proceeded to sleep off and on for periods of 30 minutes to an hour until 1 am Easter Sunday morning. When we had started the day Saturday, Andy and I thought we would be going back to church on Easter Sunday (we hadn't been in a really looong time due to the fact my back hurt so bad while I was pregnant, I couldn't sit in church for the services). Instead, this was our Easter Sunday morning....
Andy woke up and captured this moment of all of us sleeping on the couch! Yes, even Fritz is sleep deprived at this point!
So here's to next years Easter...maybe I'll have a better handle on what's going on by then and I can have all of the cute little Easter pics with Sarah and plastic eggs and plastic grass all while she is dressed an adorable little dress...see, I had it all planned in my head- I am quickly realizing that all of this planning is wasted on a newborn...she runs the show- not me!
