NYE!!

We headed to moms tonight to pop some fireworks with the girls and then get back home and off the roads. It was already a cold night and we started just a little after six. Sarah was super excited as usual for her favorites...the pooping dog, egg laying chicken and sparklers. Leah and I were just cold! We did the watching.

Poor baby girl was not loving the loud noises. I enjoyed the warm snuggles.

Best attempt at a group pic.  Jeff was kind enough to let us come over early before his party and blow stuff up.
Sparklers!!

Jeff and Andy, who's showing off his Unabomber look. Our grand finale at 7pm. Hey! It's midnight somewhere right?
"Seriously with the noise maker!"
Happy New Year!

Fe - Fi - Fo - FLU!

Mask??? Oh, yes I did!
Yep! It's the flu!! And YES, we have all had our flu shots!  According the the doctor, this year's just a bust on the vaccination.  Allegedly the the virus mutated, the vaccine didn't change, yada, yada, yada...my girl has the flu!  Did I mention we leave for Disney World in seven days?!?!  Oh and Sarah hasn't been sick since March when she had her tubes, tonsils and adenoid surgery.  Good grief!! But on the bright side....it's before our trip, not during our trip, I haven't had to miss a day of work and lastly our house smells like a "Early Morning Breeze" thanks to all of they Lysol!  Doctor says she should be good to go in three to five days.  Bring on the Tamiflu!!

Christmas Day

Yippeeeee!!! It's Christmas morning!!!  Sarah was the first one up this morning and headed into our room to get us up to go with her to see what Santa brought.  We had to wake Leah for the festivities.  She was a sleepy baby this morning.

Santa stopped by our house last night!

Two very happy girls with their Santa gifts.

Daddy's girls.
Christmas morning we open the presents from the Jacobsen's and the Seat's.  We always enjoy a little more unwrapping of gifts!
Sarah enjoying her Minnie Mouse pony stable.

Leah and her new dinosaur chop.

Puzzle time.
We had some breakfast and watched the Disney parks special...which we loved by the way.  It was fun showing and talking to Sarah about all of the things we will be seeing in eight short days!!  Then it was time to get up and get moving in order to go to Suzette's house for Christmas dinner and more family time!
Aunt Debbie brought Sarah a Frozen cookie making kit.  These two had a great time decorating the cookies.

The whole crew.
We left Suzette's later that afternoon.  Leah needed a nap, and Sarah was starting to feel a little warm to the touch, which ended up being a low grade fever before bed time.  It was a long, fun, eventful few days.
Sleeping tight with her new Minnie and Mickey from Aunt Suzette.  Guess we will head to the doctor in the morning and see what is the cause of this fever.
Another great day and wonderful Christmas!!  We are all so truly blessed to have each other and all of our many blessing.  Thank you God for your son Jesus!

Elfie, Ellie, Lizzy, Izzy, Dooty, Says Goodbye....

Well with our elf friend, which I have resorted to calling her now, because I can't seem to keep up with all of the name changes, leaving tonight, here's a look back on her brief stay.

Sarah had a nice little talk with her tonight before she left and asked that she please come back "like around December 1st next year, so she can be here longer".  I'm pretty sure Elfie, Ellie, Lizzy, Izzy, Dooty will make sure does a better job planning next year and makes it to our house earlier since she had so much fun on her visit!

Chirstmas Eve

We started tonight with our Christmas Eve service at church.  It's become a Christmas Eve tradition that we all truly look forward to each year.

After church, we headed over to mom's house for dinner and presents.  We loved having Uncle Eddie with us again this year!!
Family pic. Missing Uncle Mike tonight...he's still stationed in England. We love you Mike!

Sarah is ready to open presents!!  After dinner kiddo...just a little bit longer.

Sarah helping Leah with her gift to Leah.  Leah was a hoot this year opening presents.  She loved it all...but mostly the paper!

Leah was super excited to receive her giraffe and zebra from Sarah.  Leah spotted these in the Tractor Supply store earlier in the week and Sarah, along with Grandma's help purchased them without Leah knowing.
Grandma and her new 'Merica house flag.

Uncle Jeff is now ready to cook it up!

Leah loved opening presents!!

And now for the best part of the night...well for me and Andy at least!  Sarah's big present... a trip to DISNEY WORLD!!!!  Andy and I have been planning this trip for a long time and we are super excited that we now get to talk with her about the trip.  All of the acronyms, like WDW and spelling out words, etc were becoming tricky for us.  We are not good at keeping big secrets like this...at all!!
Going through the crazy amount of tissue paper.

Minnie Mouse!  Which at first Sarah thought that the balloon was her present. haha!  She ran over and gave us both a hug for the balloon.
I pointed out that it was attached to a suitcase.  She still wasn't really catching on to what was going on just yet.
Working on reading the countdown calendar that was inside the suitcase.

Wait? What????

Really?!?!

HAPPY!!!

We are going to DISNEY WORLD!!!  (sorry Leah, you get to go next time ;)
It was a fun night and I am not really sure Sarah at this point knows what exactly is going on...like always, she needs some time to let it all sink in.  But Andy and I are super excited for her and know it's sure to be a memorable trip for us all!!

After a little hanging out and going through the gifts, we headed back home to get ready for Santa's arrival tonight.
Cookies and milk for Santa, carrots for the reindeer.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
