DSHS Homecoming 2011

I don't normally take my camera to school to take pictures, however; today was different...It was homecoming and my DSHS "bestie" as the kids would say, was on the hit list for a pie in the face! Each teacher had a jar that collected money for MDA...the teacher with the most money got the pie in the face!Missy and her girls...a very familiar Carroll girls picture -Katie with jazz hands and Emma flashing gang signs! While there were technical difficulties with the sound system during the announcement of the homecoming court, the senior class brought out the beach balls!

And now the moment of truth! The teachers set up in there sexiest cafeteria lady attire waiting for the pie in the face.

Missy getting a little sassy in her confidence!
Whew! The coaches got the pie to the face!

Cheerleaders!

DSHS Pride and Spirit Marching Band!

The south side of the gym.

That night for the game, I worked the gate, as I do every home game. Andy decided to bring Sarah out to the game- the weather was great and he knew Sarah would have fun with all of the other kiddos!

Sarah and Kyleigh having concessions. I promise the girls do more than just eat, but the only time I can get a picture of them together is when they are sitting still eating!
Kyleigh and Sarah admiring Katie's VIP pass (or really fancy necklace) as a coach's daughter.
Happy momma with her baby girl!

LSU 47 West Virginia 21

The Carlton's had the crew over at their house of the West Virginia game. Ben cooked up some yummy Chicken Sauce Picante! Abby, Kyleigh and Sarah being big girls at the table...of course the picture I capture Sarah has a cracker in her mouth! Just taking a minute to relax....wonder what she's thinking? Looks like three little girls have been busy in Kyleigh's room! That didn't take long!
They must have worked up a big appetite while playing because these girls were loving some boudin! I had three spoons working at one time and couldn't get it to them fast enough!
The "young" crew stayed outside and watched the game on the TV Ben had set up for us
But not to worry the "older" crowd let us know they were still all about the game. Mr. Mike screaming "TOUCHDOWN" or something like that ;)
We returned the celebration chant!
Michelle with two sweet baby girls! Sarah...heavy eyes, pacifier, blankie- yep it was that time! She's become very accustomed to Michelle's spare room. While we were setting up the pack n play when we first got there, she kept pointing at it...like she knew that was her "bed" for the night!
On the older kid excitement for the night, Cooper was out playing football with Chance and his knee met the concrete! Put a nice little gash in his little knee...not to worry, he had plenty of TLC to help him feel all better!
All smiles for another victory for our #1 LSU Fighting Tigers!!

Elmo's Diaper Changing

Sarah decided that Elmo needed a diaper! And she went all out to make sure that it was done correctly. She insisted on having wipes...guess it was a dirty changing! She kept telling me "Mel-mo" "IPES" and "Mel-mo "IA-Per" Yes, for those of you not fluent in Sarah...Elmo need a diaper and wipes!
So I gave Sarah her necessary supplies and she went to work! She kept wiping his tag that is on his bottom...guess that was the "dirty".

All done!
And of course every good "Mel-mo" gets a kiss after a good changing! Now, if I could get Sarah to teach her daddy how to change those dirty diapers this well!

18 months

Well, we've made it...A year and a half!! Love, love, love this age! So much fun!

Sarah May is now 33 inches tall (90th percentile) and 28 pounds (also 90th percentile) as Mary Poppins would say...Practically Perfect in Every Way! or as the Dr. would say..."perfectly proportional"!

She has added lots of words to her vocabulary...too many to list...and lots of almost words that Mommy and Daddy can piece together.

She has become quite good at fussing Fritz for his wrong doings...poor dog, can't catch a break!

You continue to amaze us Sarah, and we love and cherish every day we get to spend with you!

Kyleigh had her 2nd birthday party at Gymboree! It was so much fun! (I mean the kids had so much fun ;) The rocking horse...Sarah of course getting acquainted with her surroundings. Always so serious!Following Kyleigh down the slide.Big intertube!
Hanging out watching the big kids jump!Slapping hands on the big inflatable while the music plays and.....Stop! Put your hands on your head!
Riding on the inflatable. The party was a barn yard animal theme, so this inflatable was the "horse". Sarah crawling through the tube.
My doodlebug!Birthday girl with her barn cake and animal cupcakes...so cute!Kiddos enjoying the cake! Happy 2nd Birthday Kyleigh Ann!!

LSU 19 v Miss St 6

With this game being on a Thursday night, we cheered the tigers to a victory in a more relaxed manner. Andy was out of town with work, so Sarah and I went with mom over to Ms. Patty and Mr. Mike's house to watch the game. We lasted until the first half and then headed home to put Sarah to bed and I got to watch the second half of the game.
Sarah and Kyleigh sharing snacks outside while watching Cooper kick the football around.Dinner time...hotdogs!See they do more than just eat! Sweet girls giving hugs! Kyleigh is talking up a storm now and I love to hear her call Sarah's name....Sar- RAH!

Mini- Mani

Sarah got a hold of her fingernail clippers (they were closed) and decided she was going to clip my nails.
I am continually amazed at the things Sarah knows. Here I am thinking all this time that she pays no attention to me while I clip her fingernails and little did I know she was watching and learning the whole time! I think one of the coolest parts of being a parent is just watching them learn and seeing the, what feels like, daily growth of our baby girl! It really is the coolest thing I have ever been a part of...everyday she surprises us with something new!

LSU 49 v Northwestern St. 3

First home game of the season...Whoop! Whoop! As always, one of my favorite places to be is on LSU's campus on a Saturday for football! The weather was gorgeous to say the least! After weeks of 100+ temps in south Louisiana, the arrival of Tropical Storm Lee last week brought a much more enjoyable week of temps in the 80s! Andy and Big Mike started bright and early and got the tailgate all set up for us while the rest of us showed up later. They did a great job with just two people!
So festive!

Love having visitors to the tailgate!! My brother Jeff's best friends Ronnie and Emily made it to the game! They both were in the Northwestern Band with Jeff! Unfortunately, Jeff had drill this weekend and missed the game this week! But on the bright side, he did get promoted to Sargent!!
Long time friend (like from 2nd grade!!) PJ ended up at our tailgate for a while...come to find out we had mutual friends! Such a small world! THE Dru Nettles stopped by for a quick visit before heading to the game! Richard and Olivia stopped by...these two very rarely get out to tailgate, so I had to get a pic of them while they were with us! Olivia is a Northwestern Alum!
Even Cooper had some visitors this week! Chance, who comes to games occasionally and then Cooper's friend Jude....these boys played ALL day!! They had a blast!!
Jocelyn, Michelle and Me. Yes, those who know me know I really despise any LSU apparel that is not purple and gold....however, with this week I also supported the Red, White and Blue in honor of those who were lost and those who serve for the 10 yr remembrance of 9/11/01.
Me and my favorite tailgater!
Almost all here! Ben missed out this week due to a golf tournament. We had a wonderful first tailgate!! GEAUX TIGERS!!
