FBC Fall Fest

Time for one of our favorite events at church...Fall Fest/ Trunk or Treat.  And guess what...if you miss a day at Sunday school, you get volunteered to desgin/create the trunk. HA!  But let's be honest....I love this stuff!! :)  This year's theme...Monster's Inc.  It's so easy for me to get excited about a Disney movie and putting a plan in place.  And with Pinterest around to supply endless ideas, who wouldn't want to do this???

rough draft. ;)

Doors.
Ok...so I do love to do all of this creative fun, however, I do lack some skills in painting and other artsy kind of stuff. Luckily, I have unlimited access to the school art department and we have some AMAZINGLY talented students at our school that can save my pitiful painting. :)   The left picture is what I sent to the art department.  The right is what they sent back, I just had to finish the grey background.   Dang. they are GOOD!!
Sulley.

Boo! I wish I would have taken a pic of Boo before she went to the art department. Just to put it into perspective, she was so scary I didn't even want to take a picture of her. ha!

Headed to the church property.  We are all so excited!!!

Sarah and Kyleigh helping with the set up.

Tadaaaaa!

And how cute are our class shirts to match the theme?!?!?!

Gabrielle, our own real life Boo!

Pumpkin Carving

This is a first for us!  Carving pumpkins.  In an attempt to keep things somewhat under control, we have only painted our pumpkins up to this point with the girls.  This year, we decided to go for it!  We had SO much fun!!! The weather was actually fall-like and it made for a wonderful day outside at Grandma's house.  We all agreed we should try to do this every year!

The before...

First time to "gut" a pumpkin.  We laughed so much at her initial attempt.  She finally took the plunge and got her hands dirty.

Happy momma.

I helped Leah with her carving.  This was the first time I've carved a pumpkin in....forever!  Luckily Leah was pleased with the outcome.  She just wanted to paint!!! Girl loves to paint!!

Here's the pro in the family, Jeff!  He also carves a pumpkin or two yearly, so he's had a little more practice.

Sharing his expertise with Sarah.

Still painting.

Carving all by herself!

Say "PUMPKINS"

All done!

Done!

Time for some hot chocolate. Yummmm.

Our finished products.   So. Much. Fun.
