Cake Pop goes Pop!

Abby gave Sarah a Cake Pop maker for her birthday.  Sarah has been driving me bonkers to make the cake pops for a week now.  Today was the day to just dive in and do it!
It's a really cute idea.  And it started off really fun.

All smiles, stiring it up.

Now putting the dough in the cake pop mold.

Annnd the disaster that followed!  Ha!
I felt like I was on our local news doing the segement they call "Does It Really Work?"  Let's just say that next time we will just buy a cup cake mix and decorate cup cakes on our own.  We had a fun time making a mess and laughed a good bit through the whole thing.  No one ate the cake pops...well, Sarah tried before she gave up and said "These don't taste good."  And to drive the point home...Fritz didn't even try to eat them off of the table! Ha!  Fun times!

Oh and incase you are wondering...Yes, Nicole, Abby's mom reads the blog and yes, we've already laughed about this together. ;)

Sesame Street Live - Making Friends!

As if we didn't have enough planned this weekend, this crazy momma decided we need to go to Sesame Street Live on Sunday.  We got up and went to early church and then headed out to Sesame Street Live.  Ms. Tiffany came to watch Leah while we were gone.

Enjoying some cotton candy with Daddy.

Mommy and Sarah.
It was a super cute show again this year.  And Sarah enjoyed it.  I do think though that we were all a little tired...Andy may have even fallen asleep at one point during the show. Ha!  But it was a good time and I am glad we went.

Grandmaw had invited us to her house for dinner and since Leah was napping, Sarah and I headed to Grandmaw's house while Daddy and Leah stayed home.  Sarah packed up a few birthday presents so she could play with Grandmaw and Uncle Jeff.
Having fun with sidewalk chalk with Uncle Jeff.

Sarah's 4th Birthday Party

Minnie Mouse was the theme of Sarah's birthday party this year!  This made me very happy. ;)
Birthday invite.
Birthday party spread.  Oh, hey Leah!

Birthday girl in front of her cake.  The cake that almost didn't make it ;).

Grammy gave Leah this cute little Minnie Mouse outfit for her to have party attire too.
The party again had different stations for the kiddos...coloring, bucket toss (per Sarah's request - she loved getting the candy last year), pin the bow on Minnie and new this year... bubbles!!  And then of course we had the swing set - which was a big hit.

Kiddos coloring their bows to pin on Minnie.

Finished bows on Minnie.  Sarah's is the third one down in the middle.

Bubbles where a HUGE hit!!

Cake time!!  Oh this cake...it fell apart on the way home from the store - it apparently wasn't put together properly, but it still tasted yummy and the store did refund our money.
One more birthday wish!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!
Swing set fun!
It was a great party again this year.  Every year I think I'm not going to have it at our house again, but then when it's all said and done...I just love having the party at our house. I might see how long I can get away with having it at home.

Sarah rocking it out on her new microphone....Leah enjoying the show!

And the night continued with playing with her birthday gifts.  Sarah with her new easel having fun practicing to write her name.
Another party down...lots of fun!

Sarah's B-day Week - Weekend Fun! Part 2

Today's plan was to stay home and just enjoy not being on the road before everyone has to leave tomorrow.  We all agreed that some crawfish would be wonderful...especially since we hadn't any this season due to the high prices and long drawn out winter.  So we all got up and somehow made it to the late service at church on time!!!  And then headed back to the house to start playing and boiling crawfish.  With a family celebration for Sarah's birthday to finish up the day.

Leah all smiles with cousin Annie before church.

Uncle Rob assisting Andy with the crawfish.  The first pot of the season is on!

Kids playing in the car while they wait on crawfish.  This has become a crawfish boil ritual.

Other side of the table.

Play dough fun outside...of course!
This is the first year, that we aren't having Sarah's birthday party while everyone is in town.  I actually opted to do the party the following weekend, so we could spend the whole weekend with the family.  In order to give the kiddos a little bit of the party fun, I pulled out the birthday banner and set the table to get in the spirit of things.
Happy Birthday Sarah!

Celebration #1...make a wish!
After cupcakes and presents, we headed back outside to enjoy the weather and each other.
Leah loves Aunt Katie!

Uncle Rob started this new fun game of kicking the ball while swinging...the girls had a blast!  That's Sarah kicking the ball.
We had a wonderful weekend with everyone visiting!!!  We are super excited that everyone made the effort to take the long trip down south.  And as with every visit...it's just never quite long enough.  But luckily, we will be in Oklahoma for Easter and will get see everyone again soon!
