Halloween 2014

Again this year, we headed to Grandma's neighborhood for Trick or Treat.  Much less chaos.  The O'Neals, Felder's and Graves' joined us this year.  The weather was actually fall like...we don't get that very often for Halloween.

Grandma and Sarah worked super hard on all of our treats Thursday for our party.

Baby Berkleigh's first Halloween! ;)  The countdown is on...she should be here mid November!

Sweet girls!  Elsa and Rapunzel.

Happy Halloween!!!!
Sarah 4, Abby 4, Keaton 2, Leah 1 and Bradley 2

Pure happiness!!! Love this boy!

They really got the hang of it this year!  Off to the next house!!

Look Eric dressed up as a "loser". GEAUX TIGERS!! BEAT BAMA!!

Walking the street.

Jocelyn and her "old" man.

Uh-oh! Eric is handing out candy.  Look out kids!!

Back at Grandma's for a little dance party!

Thank you again Grandma for hosting us!!! We love getting together at your house for Halloween!! Looking forward to doing it again next year!

Leah's Walking!

Look out!  Here she comes!!

Well, it has happened! Leah is officially walking!! She is really proud of herself and gets super excited when she makes it to her intended destination!!
Focusing hard on her destination.

And it seems to be that her tongue helps her to balance between those "long" walks. ;)

Trunk or Treat!

Soooo grandma's Sunday school class had decided to put a trunk in the Trunk or Treat festivities at church this evening.  And well grandma, called me up with the ole "We are doing a trunk for Trunk or Treat.  I don't even know where to start.  Can you help?"  And the rest is history! haha!
I directed mom to Pinterest and told her to pick a theme and then we would go from there.  She and Sarah found a super cute Great Pumpkin scene and we started the planning from there.

Sarah, Andy and I really had fun with this project.  Andy showed off his artistic talents by drawing all of the characters by free hand for us.  Sarah and I were in charge of the painting.
We spent Friday night at Grandma's working on our ghosts.

Here it is!  The truck belongs to one of the ladies in my mom's Sunday school class, Mrs. Carolyn Varnado and her husband. It was a perfect fit for our theme.

Here are our "ghosts".  If you remember from the story, the kids all dressed as ghosts for trick or treating.  We made these with tomato cages, newspaper, white sheet material and black felt for the eyes.

"Welcome Great Pumpkin"

Sarah and I with mom's Sunday school class.  The "Sharing and Caring" class.

Family group pic.  I asked Sarah why she didn't smile and she informed that she had just put a handful of skittles candy in her mouth right when I decided to have us take a picture.  If you look close, you can see the wad of candy in her right cheek. HA!

WHAT?!?! I came for the hotdogs.

Listening to the devotional.

Sarah and her friend Liam.  (Poor baby is an "eye closer" when it comes to flash pictures)

Sarah decided she wanted to hand out candy instead of walk around to the trunks.

Sarah and Grandma...big smiles!

Sweet baby Luke!

Sarah and her friend Brayden from school.  (again with the closed eyes ;)

Sarah and Presley...made friends due to mommy being friends with Ms. Tali.

One last picture in the trunk!
So much fun getting this all together.  Our trunk won first place!!!  Which is just mainly a matter of bragging rights...not to mention, my whole family is now if good graces with my mom's Sunday school class.   And I'll admit...I'm already working on an idea for next year!

LSU 10 vs Ole Miss 7

Only two games left of the home football season for LSU.  This week's game against long time rival #3 Ole Miss.  The week has had a big game feeling to it for sure with the sports radio talk, news coverage etc.  And with #23 LSU being an underdog, it just makes it that much more exciting!

ESPN's Gameday was on campus!  Always a fun time!  Corndogs....Ole Miss fans like to think they are taking a dig at LSU fans by saying that we smell like corndogs.  Something to do with all of the alleged fried food, etc on campus.  No one seems to be buying into their ridiculousness...so we just have fun with it!
Jeff: "I am NOT a corndog!"  Fun times.  Jeff had a number of people stop him to take a picture.  He was like a little celebrity.

Lee Corso picked LSU to win the game!! His 250th headgear pic! Let's GEAUX TIGERS!!
After Gameday we headed back to the tailgate where mom was holding the fort down.  She had been practicing her  Jenga skills while we were gone and apparently got pretty good while we were gone.  Game on!

JENGA!

Hmmmm....what to do? what to do?

oops!  poor Jeff, the hot dog, not so lucky! Jeff did a great job making this fun tailgate game.  Thanks bub!

Game time!!! Ready for some Tiger Stadium magic!
Seriously...this night was A MAZ ING!!!!  It was the Tiger Stadium that you always hear about...the Tiger Stadium where your ears were ringing, your head was pounding and your throat was so sore, you didn't even realize it anymore from all of the yelling.  Defense played lights out.  It was an instant classic in the stories of Ole Miss/LSU games.
The whole stadium stayed for the whole game...who wouldn't?!?!   It was great!

And yes, we stormed the field!!   Well, WE didn't but other LSU fans did.  It was such an electric atmosphere...the storming of the field was a pure reaction of joy!  LSU was able to ruin Ole Miss' perfect season and we couldn't have been happier!!!

The ride home consisted of lots of talk of the game, and the atmosphere and then of course the possibilities the rest of the season holds if LSU could continue to win.  We love us some LSU football...no doubt!!  It was a long day and a long night. And when we got home, we were greeted with the lovely art work of our wonderful babysitter, Ms. Tiffany and Sarah.

It's always nice to know that your children had a great day too!

Whew!  Glad we get to enjoy this win a few extra days with the bye week coming up.  And then one last home game of the season.  Sure to be another fun night in Tiger Stadium....Bring on Bama!

Pumpkins!

We headed to the pumpkin patch today right after school.  We again went to the Episcopal church close to our house.  There is a fancier patch about 30 minutes from where we live, but what we don't know won't hurt us! Right?!

Love that smile!

Haulin' pumpkins!

We found our pumpkins!
We gathered our pumpkins and of course the homemade pumpkin bread that the church ladies make every year that we must purchase and gobble up before we ever make it home (literally five minute drive home) and prepared for the decorating.
Yep, another year of non-carving at the Jacobsen house. Finger paints seem to work well with my crew.  Maybe next year...;)  It was a nice afternoon, so we headed outside for the painting of the pumpkins.

Things started out nice and clean....

There's that smile again!

And then got real messy!!  I learned the ole "keep the pacifier in" trick with Sarah.  At least Leah couldn't eat the paint!

Working on "masterpieces"

Leah's new funny face.  I think this is the "give me my pacifier face".  Whatever it is, it cracks us up!

Still painting!!

Yep, all the pumpkins are done and Sarah is still at making a happy mess.
Happy Fall Y'all!!
