Leah's Family Birthday Party

We had so much fun celebrating Leah's 11th birthday today with the family. The weather was perfect! And the company was even better. Sarah got some good practice in with her camera too! She captured so really good shots of the family and everyone playing. 

Oh this cake! I am sorry Leah, me and Daddy had a little misunderstanding on the colors and and pro-tip when you ask your husband to order it and he places the order online....be very specific in your requests. hahaha.

We love Friday Night Lights in Yellow Jacket Stadium! And Grammy and Papa are in town for Leah's birthday so they joined us for the DSAA tailgate. 

It's alumni night for DSHS Cheer and Ms. Christine is here for it. So thankful for her as Sarah's Sunday school teacher. 

 

NSE - LEAP Celebration for Leah

Leah was recognized tonight for her excellent work on her state LEAP test in Math and ELA for fourth grade. We are so proud of you Leah! Keep up the great work.

Andy surprised Leah by showing up just before they called her name. He was out of town working but was able to drive straight to the STEM center as soon as he landed. Leah had a few happy tears in her eyes when she saw him. 

 

LSU V UCLA W 34-17

First game for us of the season. We decided that we were only going to the SEC home games and this UCLA game because it was the first time they had ever played at LSU. Leah had basketball in the morning and then we headed out to LSU. Yall. It was so HOT. I mean like crazy hot. 

There was lots going on out in front of the PMAC so we headed there. The girls scored big with a bunch of free skin care from Bubble. Powerade was giving out free samples and there was a band. Good times. 

Until we got in the game. Once we sat there and started to bake, this old lady couldn't take the heat. Leah was tired from basketball and so she joined me under the concourse. I really probably should have eaten something before we got to the game, but I didn't and well, that and the heat was a no go. Unfortunately, we had to leave at halftime. My people were troopers and didn't make me feel too guilty about having to leave. And I didn't feel so bad because there were lotssssss of people leaving at halftime due to the heat. 

LSU lets each person bring in a their own unopened water bottle. So we did that this game to try to save some money. Just froze the bottles before the game in hopes of keeping the water cool through out the game.
