Popsicles, Sprinklers, and Watermelon... OH MY!

We have really enjoyed being outside! Almost daily Sarah is going to the door and asking to go "OUT" or "Ow-iiide".
Ahhh, the first Popsicle!

I hadn't got Sarah a little pool yet, so we decided to go old fashion and pull out the sprinkler...she was a little cautious at first. And then...game on!! First time mommy lesson learned this same day...Ummm change your child in to her swimsuit before you let her run through the sprinkler...DUH!And after a change of clothes...cold watermelon! Mosquito bite and all...it was a fun filled summer day!!

Big Bathtub!

Well at 15 months, I finally put Sarah in the real bathtub! HA! I know, I have just been a chicken up to this point. Truth be told she would probably still be in the small plastic tub that fits in the real bathtub if Sarah still fit in it! Her long legs found their way out of the plastic tub, so I had no choice but to upgrade!

Notice all of the fish "stickies" on the bottom of the tub! I might have went a little overboard- I ended up using two packs of stickers to make sure she wouldn't slip around the tub! She is loving the freedom on the whole bathtub now! I am getting used to it. ;)

Father's Day 2011

Sarah and I got together and made her daddy his present from her this year...
Happy Father's Day Andy!! You are a wonderful daddy and Sarah adores you! We love you!!

15 Months

No pictures just stats...
Sarah now weighs 24 pounds 11 ounces (75%) and is 32 inches long (90%)

Words in her vocabulary: Momma, Daddy, "Itz" (Fritz), Ball, Owiide (outside), Uh-Oh, "Eeeasse" (Please), Duck, Dog, Bye-Bye, eye, nose, ears and then of course the "words" that I as momma only know what she is trying to say.

What Sarah is doing: Giving kisses, blowing kisses bye-bye, giving high five, loves playing mommy with her stuff animals- she feeds them, and covers them up to pat them to sleep, plays peek-a-boo with just about anything, knows her parts of the face - nose, ears, mouth, eyes; LOVES Elmo and Sesame Street: can pick out the different characters in her books- can't quite name them yet, but is getting close and wrapping her mommy and daddy around her little fingers daily!

Aquarium of the Americas - NOLA

For father's day weekend, Andy wanted to have a family outing. We decided on the Aquarium due to the air conditioning and Sarah's love of fish at the moment! We had a blast!

Sarah pointing at the "ISH". She said it all day!

Of course we had to get our first pic in the shark mouth!Sarah and Andy feeding a parakeet at Parakeet Pointe. Really cool experience and surprisingly we didn't get pooped on, despite the hundred plus birds continuously eating and flying all around us!

Sarah and Andy at the stingray touch pool...yeah momma was a little nervous seeing Sarah standing on that ledge.

Our little Starfish!Sarah loved the kids play area at the end of the aquarium...I think she had her fill of the stroller for the day!And of course no trip is complete without a souvenir stuffed animal (I know I am going to regret getting all of these soft furry creatures later...but now I am loving it). A penguin for this trip!

The walk back to the car...Sarah's first glimpse of the mighty Mississippi! (and of course in this pic she isn't even looking at it! HA!)Not even to I-10 and baby girl is OUT! What a great day!!!

Strippin' Down!

We had lasagna for dinner Sunday night and in an effort to keep Sarah's clothes from being stained with red sauce with stripped her down to her diaper while she ate. This move proved to be very beneficial!!! After dinner we didn't bother getting her dressed again...Working on her core! ;) Lots of laughs at momma being silly!
No more pics daddy...I don't have any clothes ON!!
How cute is a kid only in their diaper!?!?

Being the impartial parents that we are (yeah right!)....we thought Sarah looked super cute for church this morning, so we took some pictures before we left. The dress is compliments of Grammy for Sarah's birthday.

Ashlyn and Brooklyn Turn 11!

WOW! Ashlyn and Brooklyn are ELEVEN!! How did that happen??? Tonight they had a birthday celebration at "The Restaurant"...yes it is now just called THE restaurant at our house- and everyone seems to know that I am talking about Big Mike's Sports Bar and Grill. I digress. Sarah and I were able to attend and we had a great time!
Ashlyn and Brooklyn with their friends...Sarah's new "I am SO happy" face!

Sarah checking out Ashlyn and Brooklyn's cousin Emme...so cute! Sarah's face: "So ummm ya wanna play?" They gave hugs and kisses to each other but of course I didn't get that on camera!Present time...look who's trying to be with the big girls! Love it!!Cookie cake and ice cream time! Yummy!!

Ashlyn, Grandma Lee, Emme, Brooklyn, PawPaw Darwin, Grandpa and Grandma. Such a sweet, sweet family!!

FLASHBACK: 2010...Sarah's first birthday party to ever attend was Ashlyn and Brooklyn's. I love looking back and seeing how far we've all come!
And this year!

Happy Birthday Ashlyn and Brooklyn!! So glad we got to be there to celebrate with you!! Love you both!!

Splash Table

Ok, in full disclosure...I am awful when you take me down the toy aisle at Target, WalMart, Babies R Us, CVS, you name it! I am the one explaining to Andy why we NEED whatever toy we come across while we are out and about. He politely tells me "Just pick one!" So this weekend's toy...a Splash Table for Sarah and I! Yes, I included me, because we are being honest here!

Look how happy this child is!!

Awww, melts my heart. Andy grilling up some dinner, Fritz still aggravating us to throw that dang ball, and Sarah a happy girl playing outside!Sarah is really into this phase of "stirring things up" with any container and anything that will "stir" and then acting like she is eating it. What's funny about this is I think she has probably only seen me cook three times in her whole life! So stinking cute!

We really got a two for one deal with this purchase...Splash Table outside- box-o-fun inside!

Cajun Girl in the Making

Sarah has had a few attempts at using the spoon, but mostly hasn't been interested. I cooked up some red beans and rice and cornbread for dinner and she loved it! She liked it so much she decided she would use the spoon.
Poor baby was only getting a few grain of rice and a bean at a time...she decided to just go for it!
