Deck the Halls

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to pick out our tree..couldn't go Friday because of the rain. In the past, all of my Christmas prep would typically be done on the day after Thanksgiving so that I could just sit back and enjoy the season. Things are obviously a little different this year than in years past- I am just trying to get it all done before Christmas now!
Saturday: Get the tree!
It's so much fun to watch Sarah observe and take in new situations and environments...I would love to know what she is thinking!

Sunday: Decorate the tree and get the lights up...

While I was inside with Sarah decorating the tree, Andy was outside putting up the lights. He was finishing up when we were finishing up so we decided to join him outside...well, we thought he was almost done!

Andy got us out in the front yard for the "plug in" and well, you can see...there were some technical difficulties! Ha!"Are you sure you checked every bulb Clark?" A few more extension cords, and about an hour later, we had Christmas lights!

And the finished tree! I have presents bought- as to when they will get wrapped....lets just say it will be done before Christmas!

Thanksgiving 2010

Another first for Sarah...Thanksgiving!! And in keeping with one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions we watched some of the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade!! (although by south Louisiana standards, it's not really a parade...but I still enjoy it just the same)

Santa Claus is coming to town!!
Is that guy really coming to our house?
We spent the day at my mom's for Thanksgiving...she is really beginning to master the art of putting together a Thanksgiving feast.
Getting the food ready to be served.

Sarah helping out...however, she was mostly into playing with the spoons!

Sarah's first bite of fried turkey! She loved it!!

Andy decided to give Sarah a little Thanksgiving lesson with mom's table decorations...It wasn't the one I remembered hearing in school - but it was a good effort.

We got a phone call from Mike - who is currently serving in Iraq - so excited to hear from him!! We missed you Bubba!
Family pic - best we could do with having to set the self timer.

Daddy and his girl!Me and my sweet angel! Finally a family pic!Remember that fried turkey Sarah had...well apparently her little belly wasn't quite as fond of it as her mouth...her diaper couldn't handle the "fall out" and she had to go without a top the rest of the day! You would know the day I don't bring an extra set of clothes is the day we need them! She was still a happy girl!Sadly, Grandma didn't a picture with Sarah before it was a girls gone wild Thanksgiving!

So many things to be thankful for this year!! A beautiful healthy baby, a loving husband, great family and friends and of course our wonderful military that allows this great country to be safe of a daily basis! Another great Thanksgiving in the books!

Uncle Jeff

My brother Jeff has been a little on the timid side with Sarah in the past...now that she is getting a little bigger and can do "stuff" the two of them are really hitting it off!
The other night while at my mom's Sarah decided to show Uncle Jeff her new "trick" of patting her mouth and making noise "ba-ba-ba-ba-ba"- he joined in and she got a real kick out of it!

8 Months

Sarah turned 8 Months on the 19th...

At 8 months...

Weight: 21 pounds

As you can see from the pic, she got two more teeth on the bottom this weekend- still no top teeth

Has perfected the art of crawling and pulling up

Says Momma!! says dada when coached- hehe!

Tasting lots of table foods

Loves to be outside (and in south Louisiana that's not a problem in November!) and loves her dog!

And learning she doesn't like to be told No! ;0)

LSU 43 Ole Miss 36

Sadly our home football season has come to an end. It was such a great tailgate season this year!

Again this week, we had the 2:30 game so that meant rise and shine bright and early...
Jocelyn was serving up made to order sausage, egg and cheese biscuits with hash browns! This girl is amazing in the kitchen...or on the griddle for that matter!
Brooklyn serving up the good stuff!
While breakfast was being served, Ben was working on the pastalaya! As usual, it was DELICIOUS! (but probably could have used some garlic ;)
The finished pot of yumminess!
Cooper diggin in!
Ashlyn and Brooklyn enjoying pastalaya with their new buddy, my brother Jeff!

Andy's roommate from college and baseball pals Adam Leger and Ronnie Deck stopped by this week. Ronnie is now the bullpen catcher for the Baltimore Orioles! What a cool job! Family Pic!
And last group pic of the season... Love you guys! and Love tailgating with you!!GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I blame the phone!

My new iPhone 4 to be exact. I have had my phone now for about a month and I can't seem to put it down!! I am completely amazed by what it will do...oh and I am addicted to the words with friends game. You see, before this "smart" phone I had an old samsung flip phone that literally would just text and call....needless to say I have been overwhelmed by how smart my new phone is.

So usually after I put Sarah to bed-when I should be cleaning, washing clothes etc.- I am on my phone! So I blame the phone for my lack of interest in blogging- I only now get on the home computer to blog and to be honest, my phone is faster than than my pc!

By my usual standards of posting weekly, I have failed... Here's some of her latest adventures with her buddy! Who she will probably first call him "Stupid Dawg!" because she hears momma call him that all the time...

Fritz will soon be watching Sarah eat from the window of the back door!

LSU 24 Bama 21

Roll Tide Roll...Around the bowl and down the hole!! It's always nice to get a "W" against Bama and this weekend, the Mad Hatter did just that! It was a great way to finish off a day that started like this...

That's right, ole blue broke down on our way to tailgate. First at a red light on campus and then again in the parking lot where we tailgate...we had to go get the group to push us to our parking spot- yes, Andy had them back it in! Sunday we went back to LSU to try and get a better handle on what was wrong with it and after three hours of scratching our heads we finally called a tow truck and later found out it was the fuel pump- which means nothing to me other than having to wake up at 5:30am Monday to bring Andy to the airport and giving a few of my shiniest pennies to the car repair man- So ole blue should be good for another 150,000 miles now!

So with the Tahoe broke down, and a great game on the horizon, it was time to get the party started! 2:30 kick off means early tailgating...Michelle made breakfast:The boys tried to get the satellite in the right spot "Got an App for that?"

The rest of us tried to find a place to sit...

Mom and Liz tried to find some warmth in the sun...it was a cold morning!

The girls..

Michelle encouraging Andy to play some "booty-shaking" music...he for some reason was putting us all to sleep this weekend.Me and Mom...Future Mr. and Mrs. Felder!

Bourgeois joined us this weekend...is normal tailgate group was getting there late- he knew we'd be up with the sun!Me and Jamie...Did I mention the Tahoe broke down...so I knew I wasn't going to drive! Big Mike thought he'd help me out a little...Another great tailgate weekend...and another amazing performance by a "Damn Strong" football team with "The Want To Win"!
